After numerous complaints by residents of Kyarwagonya village in Kisongi parish of Hakibale sub-county in Kabarole district over eviction threats by one, tycoon Jenifer Dramadree. RDC Julian Ayesiga has instructed the district land surveyor to do fresh demarcations as way of solving the impasse.
One of the affected families include mzee Augustine Nyakana’s that has stayed on the land for more than 90 years.
This family has pleaded for the intervention by area leaders alleging that Ayesiga Julian the Kabarole RDC on orders of the tycoon has made a pronouncement to evict them from the land where they have lived for over 90 years.
On Thursday, the RDC accompanied by DPC, DISO, LC3 and other local leaders visited the land and instructed the Kabarole district land surveyor Simon Kahuma to make fresh demarcations on the 140 acre land and make a report in the next meeting.
According to the RDC, it will be upon the survey to tell who encroached on Jenifer Dramadree’s land since it is titled. She called for calm among residents.
According to residents their trouble started when their neighbor Christopher Kaganda sold his part of land to Jennifer Dramadi who has now claimed their land to be part of hers.
Margaret Kabanyaka 46 and Eugene Tumusiime both children of Mzee Nyakana say that eviction threats got tough after they developed a misunderstanding with the family of Jenifer Dramadree. Residents accuses RDC Julian Ayesiga of siding with the tycoon to chase them out of their land.
