Kabarole: Rwabuhinga Hailed for Annually Giving Accountability

The Minister for Local Government, Raphael Magyezi has on asked District Leaders in the country to emulate Richard Rwabuhinga, the Kabarole District Chairman by giving accountability every financial year.

 

 

Magyezi says that all over the country, Rwabuhinga is the only District Chairman who gives accountability of government funds received by the district.

 

The Minister made the remarks on Friday while representing the Prime Minister Robbina Nabbanja at the annual Kabarole District Leaders’ Accountability Conference held at district headquarters in Kitumba.

 

Magyezi was impressed by the annual event which he said that other district leaders should start organizing explaining that it ensures transparency.

 

The annual event which is organized at the end of every financial year attracts local leaders from all Sub Counties and Town Councils. Richard Rwabuhinga highlighted the projects implemented in all sectors of the district such as health, education, and transport among others.

 

He however, revealed that the district is operating with limited budget to effectively deliver services in communities. He asked the Minister to ensure that the government extends electricity Sub Counties of Harugongo and Karangura among other areas.

 

Speaking at the same function Businge Victoria Rusoke, the state minister for Local Government asked leaders to desist from belittling fellow leaders and ensure working for the people. She condemned acts of propaganda and malice amongst leaders.
