As Ugandans yesterday gathered to mark international labor Day in Fort Portal City members of the Kabarole Women Boda Boda Riders Association expressed their disappointment regarding an unfulfilled presidential pledge made in 2020.

The pledge

According to them, way back in 2020, President Museveni pledged to provide motorcycles as a way of supporting their association during the Rwenzori Investment Expo at Mountains of the Moon University.

However, the chairperson, Margaret Asiimwe, noted that despite numerous letters to local leaders, including Richard Rwabuhinga and Alex Ruhunda, there has been no single progress in fulfilling the pledge.

Asiimwe expressed hope during the Labor Day celebration that the pledge would be addressed, but they were denied access to talk to the president by local leaders and UPDF officers. She appealed for clear information from the leaders responsible for following up on the pledge.

In a phone call with our reporter,Richard Rwabuhinga the Kabarole LCV, assured calm and promised to continue pursuing the presidential pledge.
