Shock and grief engulfed residents of Muhoire village, Hakibale sub-county in Kabarole district after a 55 year old man suspected to have committed suicide was found hanging a tree on Wednesday morning.
The Incident
Area LC1 Chairperson Laurence Bamuhiga confirmed the incident saying the deceased together with his wife left home to the garden in the morning only to be chased by rain shortly after they started digging. He says the man rushed to shelter at home while the wife hides in the neighborhood.
After the rains the man didn’t return to the garden hence creating suspicion to the wife, she walked home only to find the husband hanging dead near their house,using a rope removed from a family goat.
Police initiates Investigations into Matter
Police have visited the scene and recorded statements from family members and village leaders then later handed over the body to relatives for burial.
Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of suspected suicide.
