Peter Bazira Daudi, the Secretary for Finance, Planning, and Administration of Kabarole District, has been laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kitumbi, Kichwamba Sub-county, yesterday November 26, 2024.
Kabarole mourns a dedicated leader
During the funeral, Victoria Businge Rusoke, the Kabarole District Woman MP and State Minister for Local Government, praised Bazira as a humble and peace-loving leader who was dedicated to fostering unity and reconciliation. She described him as a man of integrity, who always sought to unite people despite the challenges he faced.
Richard Rwabuhinga, the Kabarole District Chairman, remembered Bazira as a selfless, exceptional, and sober individual. He highlighted Bazira’s unwavering commitment to serving the community and being a peacemaker.
At his funeral in Kitumbi, local leaders urged one another to uphold Bazira’s legacy by promoting unity and development in Kabarole. Rwabuhinga reflected on Bazira’s significant contributions, including championing the construction of Kihondo and Kyakagusa Markets, the Kichwamba Seed School, and the Buhara Water Scheme during his time as a district councilor.
Kiiza Joseph Mashuhuko, the Mayor of Fort Portal North Division, also honored Bazira as an upright leader deeply devoted to the district.
Joram Bintamanya, a close friend of Bazira, expressed sorrow over the loss of a leader whose contributions to unity and development in Kabarole were visibly invaluable.
Bazira, 34, a dedicated Catholic former Youth leader Kitumbi Parish who also served as the Councilor for Kichwamba Sub-county, passed away from complications related to hypertension last Thursday at Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital.
