Security operatives in Kabarole district have commenced investigations into the source of threatening leaflets that were earlier yesterday dropped in the tea plantation, in Kyamara Busoro Sub County by unknown suspecteda assailants.
The leaflets
Written in Swahili, the leaflets indicated a nearby future attack on people by anonymous assailants.
Reportedly, one leaflet clearly indicated that ADF is determined to mercilessly attack Uganda and it’s people and that the army’s order is one, whereas the other leaflet indicated that They (ADF) are done with Mpondwe School in Kasese, showing their next targeted destination as Kiamara, Busoro, Tamteco company,Kaswa center and Mpanga company.
In the same leaflet, the writer indicated that the attack would happen at exactly 3am without fear or favor.
The leaflets, were picked by a school going pupil who later delivered them to the he head teacher of a primary school. The Headteacher upon recieving them, alerted Security operatives without delay.
During the urgent Security meeting held at Busoro Sub CountyHeadquarters yesterday evening as attended by district security officials, police and village Chairpersons, the Resident District Commissioner Kabarole, Mr. Festus Bandeeba directed Tea Factory Companies to form security committees and intensify intelligence in their factories.
“We call upon people to be calm & security vigilant, and LC1s to build a strong information network at village level” Be remarked.
Bandeeba, revealed too that rapid response unit has been set by UPDF to respond in case of any thing like suspected rebel or attack.
The Area RDC, also said that security has since started night patrols to deter any attack.
Bwire Paul Ogalo, the Deputy RDC tasked local council leaders to be on high alert, be sensitive to hawkers and insane persons seen in villages.
The threat, comes at a time when Citizens in the Rwenzori region are still mourning the death of of over 40 Civilians in a suspected ADF attack at Mpondwe Lubhiliha Secondary school in Kasese District.
