The management and staff of St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School Kamwenge have been commended for their generosity during the Thanksgiving Mass held yesterday that saw a total of 16 million Shillings collected to support the construction of the parish church building.
During his homily, which also marked the Feast Day of St. Anne and Joachim for the elderly, Bishop Robert Muhiirwa Akiiki praised the school’s management and well wishers for giving back to God in gratitude for the academic excellence and good health of the students and teachers.
Referring to the gospel reading, the Bishop noted that Jesus first gave thanks to God before miraculously feeding 5,000 people with just five loaves of bread and two fish. He encouraged the congregation to use their talents to produce more fruits, trusting in God.
The Bishop also urged the school’s management and staff to continually guide the students in their careers and advised the students to respect and heed their teachers’ guidance, seeking the intercession of their patron Saint.
