Kisenyi Residents Cry Over Blocked Drainage Channels.

By Sylvia.

Residents hailing from Kisenyi along Bwamba Road, Fort portal City Central division have expressed their concern over blocked drainage channels which they said has resulted into stinky water.

Speaking to our reporter, one Mutegeki John, a saloon owner, stated that the stinking waters has put their lives at risk of contracting sanitary diseases due to flies it has started attracting.

Patrick Asiimwe said that the blocked trenches with stagnant water have started producing mosquitoes which may cause malaria. He  added that, some people with restaurants are  losing customers due to stinky water in front.

The residents are however asking responsible authorities to intervene by correcting the drainage channels from Harukoto MT to stop water from flowing in people’s houses and bring sand leading to blockage of trenches.

Meanwhile the division’s mayor central division Richard Muhumza has disclosed that the drainage channel belongs to Uganda National Roads Authority and their are the one responsible for maintaining it.
