Legionaries from tertiary institutions in Fort Portal have been encouraged to break the chains of poor spirituality in their homes through engaging in earnest prayer, particularly through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
This message was delivered by Rev. Fr. Samuel Mugisa Amooti, the spiritual director of St. Paul’s National Major Seminary Kinyamasika Curia, during a spiritual talk at the reunion of the Fort Portal Tertiary Institutions Curia, held at FINS Medical University yesterday in Kahungabunyonyi Fort Portal City.
Fr. Mugisa pointed out that many young people are increasingly distracted from prayer due to excessive use of mobile phones. He urged the legionaries to dedicate time each day to recite the Holy Rosary and to seek guidance from Mother Mary, emphasizing the importance of accepting life’s challenges and patiently awaiting God’s promises.
As the main celebrant of the Holy Mass, Fr. Mugisa related his homily to the Day of All Souls, highlighting the need for healing from the grief of losing loved ones and facing global uncertainties. He encouraged attendees to trust in God, like Job did after encountering life challenges, and to focus on the hope of eternal life. He also reminded them of the necessity of seeking God’s forgiveness for their shortcomings in order to thrive in this world.
