Men above the age of 45 are highly encouraged to go for a prostate cancer check up as away of preventing the disease in the country.
The call was made by Bishop Robert Muhiirwa Akiiki, a survivor of the disease, who was communicating to a number of men gathered yesterday for Confirmation Mass at Kyarusozi Parish Kyenjojo district.
Testifying about himself, Bishop Muhiirwa advised men above 45 years to utilize the services rendered by Dr Godfrey Nabunwa at Virika hospital to know their status regarding their prostate status.
“Men over 45 should take advantage of these services to know their prostate health status, When you detect early the problem it becomes easier to solve. I’m a living example for instance” said Bishop Muhiirwa.
The Bishop who further revealed the intention of the Interreligious council to donate food relief items to Rwamwanja in July, asked congregants to donate cereal foods to support the cause since the United Nations reduced food aid to the refugees.
Regarding the status of the Virika cathedral roof renovation, Bishop Muhiirwa hailed Kyarusozi parishioners for clearing the required funds to zero balance at the Diocese, but further appealed for their cooperation and financial support to raise the remaining balance of the cathedral renovation balance which increased from 2bn to 3.6 billion.
” We shall officially write to you requesting for more financial support towards the call. The Constructors of Ambitious Company Ltd will handover the complete project in November and we count on your generous contributions.” Noted Muhiirwa.
