Minister Advices on Environmental Protection and Conservation

LC1 Chairpersons receive about 375 bicycles from GOU as a means of transport to chase implementation of government programs

The State Minister for Local Government, Hon.Victoria Businge Rusoke, has added a voice on the previous voices calling upon residents of Bunyangabu district to observe environmental protection and conservation.
She made the call on Tuesday while commissioning the distribution of 375 bicycles for LCI chairpersons at Bunyangabu district headquarters.
Hon. Rusoke observed that it is due to environmental degradation that the country has started experiencing natural calamities.
“Avoid bad practices like cutting down trees,cultivating in wetlands and other practices that degrade the environment “she said.
The Bunyangabu RDC Joshua Kisembo Masereka, cautioned LCI chair persons against money lenders noting that lay people are losing lots of property to these con men under the guise of money lenders.
“As you implement Government work,be ware of these con men,” emphasised Kisembo Masereka
The Chairperson LCV Hon James Ategeka Mugarama thanked Government for fulfilling their pledge.
“Our LCs play a vital role in morning Government programs,we are thankful to Government for providing them a modest means of transportation,” he said
