The ministry of works and transport has pledged to construct a motorable bridge connecting Kitholhu sub county and Karambi in Kasese district following decry of the community.
This was today said by Zirimenya Andre, senior engineer ministry of works and transport during the commissioning and handover of a cable crossing bridge point to Kasese district local government.
This bridge that costed shs100 million was constructed by Kasese district local government and a United States-based nonprofit organization bridges to prosperity after floods that swept away many bridges in May this year.
According to Mukasa Samuel the Project Engineer bridge prosperity, the bridge has been handed over to the Kasese district local government for its maintenance and security in avoidance of selling materials as scrap.
The bridge can carry over sixty tons and it will last for over forty years if the district maintains it very well.
