Food vendors that were formerly operating along Kamwenge /Mbarara stage Mpanga market, but later evicted by the Fort Portal city authorities have expressed concern over the poor environment they are currently working in.
The relocated vendors include those who deal in Chips, chapatti, samosa and other related foods. These,were shifted to the market straggle following the several complaints of lack of customers from vendors operating inside the Mpanga market.
Vendors uncomfortable with the new place
Speaking to our reporter, the vendors stated that the place they were relocated to is not clean enough for them to comfortably to sell their food from.
They also claimed that they are selling food near the toilet which is not recommendable.
“The toilet here produces an unbearable stench which has continuously discouraged our customers from buying our food.” They revealed
In an up-close with the mayor central division, Richard Muhumuza, told us that the health department in union with market leadership, plans to relocate all the vendors that were evicted to the container village.
Muhumuza, further called for calmness among the vendors as as they await the next step.

Business communities operating along Moldina Street Fort Portal City, have also expressed concern over full man hall covers which have reportedly put their lives at stake.
The Area vendors, revealed that there is a man hall cover connected to house forty five along Moldina Street, and that it is full to capacity which has flies due to the stench.
People complaining include shop keepers, restaurant owners, clinics and the people residing along that place.
This has led them to make an alarm before the situation worsens and infects them with sanitary diseases.
Richard Muhumuza,. the central division mayor, has said that by the end of today, the health inspector is going to solve the problem.
