In a bid to promote co curricular activities and publicize the need to fight against HIV /AIDs in Tooro Sub- region, MTN Uganda a telecom company, in partnership with Tooro Kingdom, has officially Kicked off the Second edition Masaza bicycle race competitions 2023.
A total of 30 bicycle riders, composing of 18 ordinary bicycle riders and 12 with sports bikes, have participated in the bicycle race competitions held,at Kyenjojo S.S play ground Kyenjojo town council.
These made a turn journey from Kyenjojo S.S.play ground to Kaihura, totaling up a distance of 24 Kilometers.
The competitions, were flagged off by Madina Nabawanuka, the MTN territory manager Mubende and Kyenjojo, alongside Kato Peter Abigaba the county chief Mwenge south Tooro Kingdom and other members.

According to Nabawanuka, MTN is set to render a supportive hand in every developmental project of the Kingdom for the good of the entire public.
She also hailed public for chosing MTN as their prior network around, and Tooro Kingdom for realizing talents of it’s respective Subjects.
According to Aggrey Byaruhanga, the Regional Marketing Manager MTN, the company has often involved in Tooro Kingdom activities including HIV campaign , ICT and they are glad to partner with them in other constructive programs.

Of the 30 participants a one Innocent Muhenda hailing from Mukunyu, emerged the winner of ordinary bicycle race whereas Job Musinguzi from Kyenjojo managed to be the fastest rider of the sports bike.
Muhenda, bagged Shs 500,000Shs as a reward from MTN whereas Musinguzi walked away happily with total cash of 400,000 shs .
Muhenda, couldn’t hide his happiness after recieving half a million in just one day.
He commended MTN and Tooro Kingdom for the support, and revealed his readiness to always take part in the race.
Other winners include Robert Mugabe , Deus Mucunguzi, Tom Birungi,and Clean Ahumuza all Ordinary bicycle riders, whereas Solomon Mpumwire, Ronald Mayanja, Steven Murungi and Julius Tumusiime appeared in the first five respectively.
These, pocketed cash ranging from 25000 Shs to 100000 Shs respectively.
Speaking at the event, Peter Kato Abigaba the Mwenve South County chief lauded MTN for the great partnership and supporting talents within the Kingdom.
He tasked public to be cautious about their lives and consider testing for their HIV status as away of fighting the disease.
He also asked people to do a way with domestic violence but promote peaceful families within Tooro Kingdom.
Owek.Micheal Wandera, the Tooro sports minister, revealed that the next bicycle race slated on June 4, 2023 will be in Kitagwenda.
