The state minister for gender and cultural affairs Peace Mutuuzo has called upon women who have reached at equality level to teach women how to make money and increase household income to help their families out of poverty.
While speaking to our reporter ahead of women’s day celebrations today, Mutuuzo urged the public to be involved in at least four areas; commercial agriculture and small factories.
She said that the issue is money and women must have income, they must resolve the issue of household incomes.
Mutuuzo said that women must stop scattering their efforts but rather focus on household income.
She said 95 per cent of Ugandan women are in the informal sector that saved the economy during the lockdown while they slept in markets, sustained themselves and their families.
Mutuuzo implored all Ugandans to stop violence against women and girls.
