Mwenge North Ousted from Tooro Kingdom MTN Amasaza Cup After Kyaka Defeat

A section of Fans expressed their gratitude to MTN for using the tournament to raise awareness about HIV prevention, pledge to become ambassadors for the cause by knowing their status, taking appropriate actions, and encouraging others to do the same

Mwenge North has officially been eliminated from the Third Edition Tooro Kingdom MTN Amasaza Cup after losing their second group stage game to Kyaka County at the Kyarusozi playground in Kyenjojo District.

 

Kagaba Ronnie scored the decisive goal for Kyaka, resulting in a 1-0 victory over Mwenge North. In their previous match, Mwenge North suffered a 3-1 defeat to Ntoroko.

 

Kyaka is set to play the final group game against Ntoroko on July 21, 2024, at Humura playground. This match will determine the group leader.

 

Currently, Ntoroko leads the group with 3 points and a goal difference of +2, while Kyaka holds the second position with 3 points and a goal difference of +1. Mwenge North remains at the bottom with no points and a goal difference of -3.

 

The game, witnessed by thousands of fans, was attended by political figures from Mwenge North and Kyaka. Owek. Micheal Wandera acknowledged the success of the tournament and praised MTN for their support.

 

He commended both teams for their discipline and for drawing such a large crowd.

 

MTN representatives Aggrey Byaruhanga and Madina Nabawanuka emphasized the tournament’s objective of promoting talent and raising awareness about ending HIV/AIDS within the Tooro Kingdom.

 

According to the Tooro Kingdom MTN Amasaza Cup fixtures, Kibale County will face Fort Portal City at the Kyabenda playground on Sunday, July 7th.
