National drug authority has threatened to arrest and cancel license of all drug shops which admit patients and those operating other businesses in the drug room.
According to Christopher Luzinda, the national drug authority manager western region, some people who were given licenses to operate drug shops have resorted to selling merchandise and operating mobile money business alongside drugs which he says bleaches the contract given to them.
Christopher adds that drug shops should maintain the principle of confidentiality and there is no way someone can be open to a medical attendant when he is operating in the same room with other people.
John Twasiima, Bunyangabu District Inspector of Drugs notes that many parents have resorted to use their children to sell drugs which is unacceptable as clients have been given wrong doses and prescription by unprofessional children.
The duo were on Wednesday speaking to journalists during the end of their operation in the region to check on drug dealing entities and how they are adhering to the regulations governing them.
