The diocese of Ruwenzori has scrapped off the baptism and confirmation fees that have been paid by the Christians with effective from January 1, 2021.
The Scrapping off, was announced by the bishop of the Ruwenzori diocese Rt. Rev. Reuben Kisembo Amooti, to the congregation that had come for the New year celebrations at St, John’s cathedral Fort Portal City today.
Why the Scrap off
The man of God explained that many Christians have been dodging baptism and confirmation claiming that the confirmation fees are high, therefore now it has been scrapped off, and people will hopefully embrace baptism and confirmation.
He added that says that this was anonymously passed during the synod that sat last year.

The bishop, has also disclosed that the church equally scrapped off the position of a sub dean, replacing it with a full dean.
Rev. Canon Ezra musobozi, who has been the sub dean, has been selected as the dean St. John’s cathedral.
Reflection on President Museveni New Year Address
Meanwhile, he continued to emphasize on the last night president’s national address who encouraged Ugandans to embrace farming to boost food production in their homes as the country is grappling with high item prices.
The president, also stated that if the public grows more food, the issue of high commodity prices will be dealt with, thus the bishop says people should take the president ‘advice as a serious matter.
