Rev. Fr. Thomas Tumwebaze, a Formator at St. Paul’s National Major Seminary, to has urged believers to place their complete trust in God, if they are to overcome to overcome disappointments and betrayal by fellow humans.

In his Palm Sunday homily delivered to Deacons, Seminarians, Religious, and lay Christians gathered at the Seminary, Fr. Tumwebaze highlighted the example of Jesus’ own disciples, who initially revered him but later stayed away from him and betrayed him during his crucifixion.

He underscored the ease with which current individuals can be influenced and manipulated, urging believers to anchor their trust in God, whose sacrificial love surpasses human understanding.

Fr. Tumwebaze encouraged Christians to contemplate Jesus’ cry on the cross whenever they encounter rejection, trials, or temptations, emphasizing that God remains steadfast and never forsakes them. He stressed the importance of seeking solace, love, and security in God the Father, who sent His only Son to redeem humanity.
Shortly after the Mass, in a separate interview in his office, Rev. Fr. Vincent Muhindo, the Rector of St. Paul’s National Major Seminary Kinyamasika, mentioned that the Easter holidays at the Seminary this year provide an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of the liturgical rites of Easter.
Fr. Muhindo, further elaborated that this year, external pastoral work during this Easter break by the seminarians has been suspended to enable future priests to focus on mastering the liturgical rites of the Holy Week.
He indicated that next year, Easter holidays will be in their home dioceses, allowing students to apply what they have learned during their time at the seminary.
