The manager Nyakasura school farm Samuel Nyakojo, has hailed the worthwhile of their school farm. He says that the farm has helped students and the neighboring community to enhance knowledge about dairy farming.
According to him, students who are doing agricultural subjects are able to acquire practical knowledge, and the milk products have helped on student’s nutrition from their own farm.
During the radio tour to Nyakasura school farm, Nyakojo revealed that the school is able to get about 100 liters of milk from 25 cows, each cow producing about 18 litres. This has been possible because of investing in their cattle by feeding them with different types of grass mixed with banana peels and maize brand.

The manager emphasizes that cows need good care for them to be more productive and yield more profits. Using an example of paddocks, he advised that its simply a mater of planning ,and time.
Nyakojo however stressed that lack of extension workers from the government is a major challenge affecting most farmers in the region is a challenge, but also ticks.
Nyakasura school Agriculture students He said, are able to make cheese and yoghurt on their own, which is likely to help them in future by being innovative and well equipped with skills to do with dairy farming.
According to the new Ugandan curriculum, emphasis has been put to practical subjects like agriculture in anticipation to providing learners with enough skills on what they can practically do best.
Meanwhile according to 2021 dairy report Uganda ha improved its dairy productivity. Its revenue from export of dairy products has risen from $131.5m (Shs 480bn) in 2018 to $205m (750bn) in 2020 according to records from the Dairy Development Authority (DDA)
