Founded by a Scotsman Ernest Ebohard Calwell a retired Naval Officer in 1926, Nyakasura School is anticipating to mark a century with several activities to be undertaken.
According to The School Head Rev. Richardson Balinda Abwooli, the school has gradually enhanced in academics, games and sports mentorship, on top of maintaining its position as one of the Giant schools Tooro sub-region and Uganda at large has ever had.
The centenary anniversary
Balinda, has disclosed that a series of activities relevant to the school’s centenary anniversary are being planned and will be unveiled to stakeholders and general public at an appropriate time.
He also noted a major force back by Old Students who are gearing the renovation of historical buildings and restoration of the glory of Nyakasura School.
About the School
Nyakasura School is located along the Fort Portal Bundibugyo road with an enrollment of 1,000 students. In its 100 years, the school has produced several prominent individuals notably Rukirabasaija Patrick David Matthew Kaboyo (Rwamuhokya) Oliimi III, Andrew Mwenda a prominent journalist, Patrick Bitature a Business tycoon, Dr. Crispus Kiyonga former Minister of defense, Professor Edward Rugumayo politician, academia, Jaberi Bidandi Saali politician, Aston Kajara former minister among others.
