The manager of Bayetereza sister’s dairy farm Kinyamasika, Sr.Veneranda Kiiza, has said the farm has helped in milk production for sister’s diet and income generation.
During the radio tour to Bayetereza sister’s dairy farm Kinyamasika Sr. Kiiza revealed that the farm is able to get more than100 liters of milk daily. This she says, has been possible because of investing in their cattle by feeding them with different types of grass mixed with banana peels and maize
The manager emphasizes that cows need good care for them to be more productive and yield more profits. Using an example of paddocks, he advised that it’s simply a matter of planning, and time.
She however stressed that lack of extension workers from the government is a major challenge affecting most farmers in the region, but also ticks and cattle fevers.
As a woman there are other activities she cannot do which prompts her to delegate some of the activities.
Sr.Kiiza, asked the Government to provide better cattle breeds for better production and the tractor that will help in growing maize that will help in syringe production for animal feeds.
