About 102, 117,000 Shs was yesterday collected at the final grand dinner in Fort Portal, fundraising for the 3rd June as Fort Portal diocese leads the celebrations.
The function honored by the Rt Rev. Bishop Robert Muhiirwa, the ordinary of Fort portal, William Byaruhanga the former Attorney General the chief guest among others.

According to the final report, cash collected in the event totaled to 35,117,000shs, Guest of honor pledge amounted 40million, and total pledges by participants shs26,800,000 , which altogether made 102, 1117,000 Shs.
This, is an addition to the available amount collected so far, in search for the 1billion , anticipated to cater for the 3rd June celebrations.
Yesterday evening, all roads led to Mountains of the moon hotel as Christians turned up in large numbers for the dinner in support of the cause.
According to Fr. Edward Muhumuza, the chief organizer of this grand dinner, over 300 people made it to the fundraising, which was double the number they had earlier anticipated.
He says, the collected figure of 102 million has pushed them greatly finance wise, but requests people to clear their pledge as soon as possible given the limited remaining time.

Fr. Muhumuza, thanks people of God for the overwhelming support, but calls for calm concerning any adjustments came in as a result of the added number than they had earlier planned for.
Joseph Innocent Musabe, one of the dinner organizers, reveals that they had initially planned for about 150 people due to the less cards that were bought in time.
He notes, that the situation came out of hand on the exact day, because most people came to pay at the last minute which called for adjustments in the initial plan.
