Over 3500 Pilgrims triumphantly enter Namugongo

Foot pilgrims nearly fill the space 2 days before the Martyr's day.

Over 3500 Pilgrims  triumphantly enter Namugongo

Over 3500 foot pilgrims have today successfully completed the trekking from Fort Portal diocese, alongside other dioceses to Namugongo.

The successful completion of the long journey, has ended with the the triumphant entry to Namugongo led by the Rt.Rev.Bishop Robert Muhiirwa Akiiki, who is also the ordinary of Fortportal diocese.

Earlier before in his address to journalists, Bishop Muhiirwa applauded the pilgrims for their patience, faith and love, portrayed through their mighty pilgrimage in large numbers than previously.

 

Pilgrims, have walked a total distance of more than 320 Km which has entirely taken for them a full week.

The longest journey ever in this Walk of faith, according to one leader of the pilgrims included that of Kiganda to Mityana.

 

The entire journey and enthusiasm of pilgrims according to the Bishop, has labelled the diocese a good name in the entire world.

 

He has also thanked people who have done acts of kindness along the way for the pilgrims both physically and in prayers up to their final destination.

 

On the same function, was the Kabarole district chairperson Richard Rwabuhinga Abooki, who revealed the good picture displayed by the pilgrims, according to reports made by different district leaders where the pilgrims have passed.

Rwabuhinga, has appealed to people of Tooro and the entire nation at large, to turn up for the final cause come June 3.

Other pilgrims registered so far, include those from Lira, Mbarara and  and Kampala who have successfully completed their respective foot pilgrimages as well.

 

This has happened just about two days to the function.
