The Police Family and Child Protection Unit has revealed that Fort-portal City and Kabarole district recorded a total of 875 cases affecting children in families with many being domestic violence.
According ASP Agnes Angom the officer in charge family and child protection unit at Fort-portal police the commonly reported cases were domestic violence with 481and males were among the people complaining.
While addressing reporters at her office in Boma on Monday Angom said that a total of 160 male reported cases of violence with many coming during the time of lockdown.
Other cases include child neglect, child stealing, gender based violence among others.
The officer cautioned parents especially men to take their responsibilities of paying school fees and providing for their families when schools are reopened.
