Julius Karungi, a resident of Kyentale Cell in Hoima East Division Hoima City, on Wednesday afternoon, while in Kyentale cell allegedly convinced the minor who had been left alone at home to let him go with her inside her parent’s house, immediately after entering in the house, he started raping the little girl.
The girl’s mother who was away in the garden heard her daughter screaming for help and rushed back home where he caught Karungi red-handed defiling the victim and managed to arrest him with the help of the neighbors who responded to her alarm.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine regional police spokesperson says police immediately rushed the suspect to Hoima Central police station where he is currently being detained on charges of Aggravated defilement.
Hakiza has warned parents to desist from leaving their children alone at home unattended to saying many wrong elements target the children.
