The Rwenzori west police is investigating circumstances under which a one Solomon Musinguzi 31, a mobile money agent at Mpanga market, central division Fort Portal city, was robbed by armed robbers on his way back home.
Musinguzi, was reportedly a resident of Kichuna village, Kichuna parish, Rwengaju sub-county Kabarole district

According to the Rwenzori police spokesperson Vincent Twesige, on August 23 2022, at around 930 Pm 22:30 at Mpora- Mpora, the victim was attacked by robbers on his way back home from Mpanga market, from where he operates a mobile money shop.
Presumably, the victim was riding his Motorcycle REG. No. UBC 317N when an unidentified person emerged from the nearby bush and hit him with a log, prompting him to fall down with his motorcycle.
This erupted into a scuffle, leading the robber to shoot the victim on the right thigh. The robber not only shot Musinguzi, but also carried off the bag, which reputedly contained cash approximately 1 million Ugandan Shillings and two mobile phones.
The victim rang the chairman LCI of the village who took him to Mpanga marketwhere he is currently being treated.
The bag, was however, recovered in Fort Portal city with other property apart from the Cash money.
It is also alleged, that suspects trailed the victim from his work place to the crime scene knowing that he had a huge amount of money.
Police have also learnt that the suspects knew the victim and his daily life.
