Five great Champions League comebacks

The Uganda Police has threatened to arrest all football fans that will be found watching football games in cinema halls and bars as the new Premier League season gets under way.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango said in a tweet, that President Yoweri Museveni’s directives against gathering in public places, and closure of bars still stand and anyone who will be found flouting the guidelines will be arrest.

Onyango said: “As Premier league season starts, we want to warn members of the public more so managers & owners of cinema halls, bibanda, bars, betting shops & places of entertainment NOT to open. The directive still stands. Police will carry out foot & motorised patrols targeting such places.”

President Museveni in March this year ordered for the closure of entertainment centres, bars and all public gatherings including social, political and religious which remain in effect even as the country continues to loosen up on the Coronavirus-induced lockdown.

The English Premier League remains one of the most watched and followed football leagues in Uganda and the new 2020/21 season is expected to kick off Today Saturday, 12, 2020.

London club, Arsenal will be hosting Fulham at 2:45pm in a curtain raiser for the new football campaign.
