The Resident district commissioner [RDC] Bunyangabu, Joshua Kisembo Masereka, has asked residents to give prioritize the exercise of data collection in Parish development model [PDM].
During the launch of the PDM data collection exercise at Bunyangabu district head office, Masereka said house holds are advised to entrust a well versed member, with the responsibility of data giving.
The person, should also be knowledgeable about important information regarding the house hold. Masereka added that this will enable data collectors to get accurate information.
Dominic Galimaka, the district focal person for PDM, asked residents to hesitate not providing information to the data collectors, noting that the exercise is vital for the success of Parish development model.
“Some people are wondering why we are collecting data for all people yet PDM is meant for the poor of the poorest,however data collection is meant for the entire community so avail information for data collectors,” Remarked Galimakaka
According to Elizabeth Kobugabe ,the planner Bunyangabu, the community should not conceal any information because the accuracy of this exercise will determine success of PDM as a whole.
About PDM data collection
Much as the exercise started yesterday in Bunyangabu, else where in the Uganda its in its final stages.
The exercise, also follows a successful training exercise of data collection at district level conducted by the Uganda Bureau of statistics[UBOS], Ministry of ICT & National guidance’
According to data collectors, the exercise is meant to secure accurate information which UBOS says will enhance generation of reliable statistics required for the effective implementation of PDM.
