Residents Destroy Property of Suspected Murderer, and kills his domestic animals
Residents of Buzinda village, Rwengaju Sub-county in Kabarole District, yesterday destroyed the property of Ronald Musinguzi, who they suspecte to have murdered a village mate.
The mob followed the mysterious murder of a one Patrick Ruyonga that occurred on June 14, 2021.
Since then, the residents have been trying to establish who could have been behind the murdering of the person and during their search, they found three new blood stain pangas in Musinguzi’s house which tempted angry residents to swing into unfortunate action.
They immediately called the area LC 1 chairman and OC Rwengaju Police Post, who removed the exhibits and took them to Fort Portal central police station for further investigations.
Meanwhile, the residents who remained behind mobilized and decided to destroy the property of Musinguzi, who had already fled the home. They demolished his house, butchered his sheep and goats, cut down the banana plantation.
According to a statement issued by the Rwenzori West Police Spokesperson, Vincent Twesige, cases of malicious damage and injuring of animals were reported to Fort Portal Police by Jennipher Kabatooro, a sister to Musinguzi.
“The scene was immediately visited and documented by the District CID Officer, and other officers.
Twesige also says that investigations into the crimes of malicious damage, injuring of of animals and murder are ongoing.
