Seven Allied for democratic forces [ADF] rebels, were yesterday killed in a joint forces of UPDF and Congolese army FARDC got in contact with Allied Democratic Forces [ADF] rebels in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
According the operation Shuuja spokes person, doubling as the mountain division spokes person Maj. Peter Mugisa, the incident happened in Lusulube, one of the ADF strongest camp in sector three along Kasindi Benny road.
Maj. Mugisa, stated that the seven were put out of action by artillery and combat helicopter in a strong fight with the UPDF.
During the attack he says, the UPDF &FARDC managed to capture the camp currently in their hands, recovered some walk talkies, six SMGs with 87 ammunitions, recorders, flags from different countries, RPJ bombs, pressure machines, among others.
Maj. Mugisa added that this fighting has marked the third phase for the operation Shuuja in DR. Congo.
The groups according to UPDF, are still maintaining concentration of their forces in five territories of DRC. These include Irumu, Mambasa, Beni, Rwenzori and Mwalika Isale Taliha Kabuwabuwa.
However, with continued air force and artillery attacks, UPDF has been able to register massive achievements, forcing many ADF militants to flee their hideouts.
