The Rwenzori west police is mourning the death of one of their longest serving police officers, who passed away today morning, just a year to his retirement.
According to the Rwenzori west police spokesperson Vincent Twesige, the deceased has identified as ASP Enoch Mwesige 58, who has also been the City Community Liaison Officer [CLO].
Twesige has also remarked that the late, was set to retire next year but to their shock in the morning, their colleague who reported in a good condition, was discovered dead near the police latrines where he had gone to ease himself.
“The deceased this afternoon reported at work in good condition but to our surprise he was discovered lifeless near the latrine” Lamented Twesige
About the deceased
The deceased is among the police officers who were peeped this week on Monday at the Fort Portal police head quarters after being promoted to a rank of Assistant superintendent of police.
Afande Twesige, has stated that the body of the deceased has been retrieved to Fort Portal regional referral hospital for postmortem.
The exact cause of his death remains unclear to us, as we await the postmortem report.
