Six Confirmed Dead in the Mukunyu Kyenjojo Accident

 SP Twesige has attributed the cause of the accident to reckless driving by the trailer driver

The Rwenzori West Police are currently investigating a tragic incident that occurred yesterday on the Mukunyu Fort Portal-Kyenjojo highway, resulting in the loss of six lives.

 

 

According to Vincent Twesige , the s Rwenzori West Police Spokesperson, the incident allegedly occurred around 5:00 PM at Mukunyu village along the Kyenjojo Fort Portal highway.

 

It’s reported that a motorcycle, registered as KDL 535 D/ZD 7090, collided with a stationary vehicle, registered as UBF 330 C TOYOTA HIACE, after failing to brake. It is from this background that the collision caused the motorcycle to overturn multiple times, pushing the stationary vehicle into a water trench.

 

 

This unfortunately  resulted into the immediate loss of six lives, with the identities of the deceased still to be confirmed, and eight others sustaining injuries, including Ben Kyaruhuzi (25) from Kasambya, Mubende district, Kyamanywa Brian (24) from Kiburara village, Kabarole District, Tumuhenda Ronald (23) from Nyakisi village, Katooke, Kyenjojo District, and Kabasinguzi Maureen (32) from Kasiina, Kyenjojo town council.

 

 

 

According to Twesige,three others remain unidentified and the bodies of the deceased have been transferred to Kyenjojo Hospital Mortuary for Postmortem examination.

 

Twesige, has attributed the cause of the accident to reckless driving by the trailer driver.
