The Inspector of schools in Fort Portal tourism City, Charles Mawenu, has challenged parents to stop taking their children to schools in Kampala, attributing it to why most of the schools in the city are performing poorly.
According to Mawenu, when pupils complete their primary level, their parents rush them to schools in Kampala instead of educating them in schools within their area.
While addressing parents of Banyatereza Sisters Nursery School-Kinyamasika, Fort Portal City during the PTA meeting, held on Thursday at the school premises, Mawenu called upon parents to embrace schools that are within their area.

Parents requested to properly feed their children
Stephen Gaaki, the head teacher of Kinyamasika Primary School asked parents to instill discipline in their children.
Gaki also asked parents to feed their children nutritious foods so as to fight malnutrition among children in this region.
According to him, a study conducted recently by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics-UBOS indicates that the Tooro region has the highest number of children who are stunted and malnourished.
