The Bishop of Fort Portal Catholic diocese Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Muhiirwa has appealed to christians to take good care of the elderly in their communities if they are to live a blessed and long life.
Bishop Muhiirwa was speaking on Monday during the official opening of St.Joseph’s home of the elderly in Mukumbwe cell, Rubingo ward North division Fort Portal city, where he cautioned Christians to love the elderly since they are a great source of wisdom and knowledge.
The Bishop, who is also the patron of the home, applauded Fr. Richard Sabiti the director of the home for lobbying the project from his friends in New zealand and putting the funds to good use.
The LC1 chair person Mukumbwe village Joseph Manyindo hailed Fr. Richard Sabiti for his kind approach towards improving the lives of the elderly in his village and pledged support towards the growth of the project.
