Christians overwhelming turn up
Notably, Christians have turned up in bigger numbers as compared to the previous years before the lock down.
This has been attributed to the desire for such kind of intensive prayer that involves commemorating and journeying with Jesus ahead of his crucifixion, which Christians have missed for a period of about two years.
In his remarks to Christians, Bishop Muhiirwa requested that the way of the cross reflects their actions rather than simply being a tradition.
About good Friday
From the early days of Christianity, Good Friday was observed as a day of sorrow, penance, and fasting
Much as it is a ‘terrible’ Friday, It has been called Good Friday because it led to the resurrection of Jesus and his victory over death and sin and the celebration of Easter, the very pinnacle of Christian celebrations
It is observed annually to remember Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and is a way to show reverence for Christ’s suffering for humanity.
