Police in Rwenzori West have confirmed the unfortunate incident involving a trailer and a taxi at Kasunganyanja in Bunyangabu District at around 10am resulting in three fatalities and some individuals sustaining severe injuries.
According to Vincent Twesige, the spokesperson for Rwenzori West police, the casualties include the trailer driver, a pedestrian, and one individual from the taxi. The deceased, reportedly succumbed to their injuries at a nearby clinic where they had been rushed for the initial medical assistance.
Twesige explained that the taxi, en route to Kasese district, earlier today collided with the trailer, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
He added that the police are actively working to ascertain the identities of the deceased and the total number of casualties to provide more comprehensive details on the incident.
