Police in Rwenzori has arrested three suspects on allegations of being in connection with the murder of Ntoroko district NRM chairperson Japeth Ahebwa Kabagambe.
According the Regional police commander Lamek Kigozi the three have been identified as Ahimbisibwe, Saleluya Banabas and Hebert Mutamba and they were arrested from Mbarara city on Thursday. They were arrested in joint security operations with the help of individual cameras, street cameras and other intelligences.
According to Lameck, the deceased was two weeks back picked from fort portal at Centenary bank and later discovered dead along river banks in Ibanda district.
The RPC has said that the three are still detained as police carries investigations.
He says its has been discovered that the arrested wanted money from the deceased and thus asked the people of Ntoroko not to attribute the chairman’s murder to politics.
