The Cheers of Karugutu spectators, family and friends of the bicycle race participants rattled along the streets of Karugutu in a bid to cheer up their own in the Tooro Kingdom MTN Masaza Bicycle races hosted in their County in Ntoroko district.
The 38 eligible riders that had registered for the race, rode a total distance of about 34 Km from Karugutu to Kakooge and back.
“As a sports rider participant, I’m not surprised to be in this situation. With God’s guidance I’ll ride, but He already knows who will win the race. We are however grateful for such an interesting activity organized by the Tooro Kingdom and supported by MTN Uganda.” Remarked David Baluku before the kick off of the races.
Of the 38, Albert Ajuna, Yusuf Kusemererwa, Mubarak Kevo, David Baluku, and Fenehansi Muhindo qualified as top final riders of sports bikes whereas Steven Black, Sele Asaba, Robert Musinguzi, Sqad Businge, and Joseph Alituha respectively emerged top five in the category of Ordinary bikes.
Each one of these, moved away with a total cash different from another’s, respective of their recorded position.
Sele Asaba, who went away with a total cash of 250,000 Shs noted that the activity was it a kind gesture by the Kingdom courtersy of MTN. He said he would use the money to buy something that will always remind him of the Tooro Kingdom Efforts.
The Tooro MTN Masaza Football Tournament
The same day yesterday, The MTN Tooro Kingdom Masaza tournament group C was hosted at Karugutu primary school play ground.
Players and Couches of the Group C teams, had speculated throughout the week that their teams would through these games make it to the Semi Finals and bag the promised 5 million Shillings.
The first game in the Pitch where Burahya played with Bunyangabu yielded favor of Burahya 1-0, whereas the second match between Ntoroko and Bunyangabu ended in a goal less situation.
Ntoroko and Burahya recorded a draw in the final game of 1-1.
Burahya qualifies for Semi Finals
It’s from this background that Burahya gained 4 points, which paved it’s way for the Semi Finals skated on July 28 this month.
