The king of Tooro has revealed that the kingdom Information communication technology ICT centre under construction at Mucwa will be used as a learning centre for mainly pupils and students in Tooro to equip them with computer skills.
In a Podcast featuring King OYO, his royal highness says this will enable the learners at various levels to acquire computer skills including programming and website designing to make them competitive on the job market of modern times.
King OYO says the ICT will be launched or inaugurated in September as one of the activities to mark his coronation anniversary. According to His Royal Highness aides, once the ICT is fully functional, it will offer 3 sessions of computer literacy or training daily to enable as many people as possible access the ICT hands-on experienc.
It said that while the ICT project is work in progress, the contractor says it is 80% done which puts it on schedule to be completed by September.
Meanwhile, King OYO says there are a high chance of his evangelists friends of USA coming back to Uganda and Tooro in particular for another revival mission of ministering the word of God in July.
During last year’s corononation anniversary of HRM, a team of pastors led by Brian Bolt of BB world evangelism USA were in Tooro and preached to mammoth crowds at Buhinga and at the Palace during activities to mark King Oyo 28th coronation anniversary.
