The Tooro Kingdom Premier, Owek. Calvin Armstrong, has commended MTN Uganda, a telecommunications company for its continued support in unifying the kingdom through sponsorship of games and sports activities that gather hundreds together.
Owek. Calvin made these remarks yesterday while addressing large crowds gathered for the opening match of the 4th Edition of the Tooro Kingdom MTN Kabode Masaza Tournament that took place at Humura Grounds in Kyegegwa District, featuring teams from Kyaka Isaza and Kibale Isaza.

In his speech, the Premier emphasized that the tournament is not only about winning or losing, but more importantly about bringing together subjects from various counties within the Kingdom to foster unity and togetherness.
In the opening football match, Kyaka Isaza secured a 2-0 victory over Kibale Isaza, with both goals scored by Jonathan Kisanku, who was later declared Man of the Match.
Unlike the previous years, this year’s tournament includes the introduction of a women’s netball competition for the first time. In the opening netball game, the Kyaka women’s team triumphed over Kibale with a high score of 129 goals, earning them a spot in the semi-finals. Aisha Namuyomba from the Kyaka team was recognized as the Most Valuable Player

Both the Man of the Match and the top netball scorer walked away with prizes, including a brand-new MTN Kabode smartphone and ten chickens each from the Kyaka MTN Eco Farm.
The 2025 edition of the Masaza Tournament continues to run under the theme: “Get Tested & Know Your HIV Status: Leaving No One Behind.” with emphasis on preventing the spread of HIV within the Kingdom of Tooro.
