Mwesige Zebidayo Mukwiki deputy minister in charge of culture in Tooro Kingdom has observed that people have abandoned Tooro cultural norms especially at burial ceremonies
According to Zebidayo in the previous passed people used to cry mourning their beloved ones during burial a tradition that has since been ignored by the current generation
He was addressing mourners at the burial ceremony of Omugurusi Vincent Kalenzi Akiiki commonly known as Fundi who has been serving as Vice chairperson LC1 Njara B village and chairperson St. Joseph Njara Small Christian Community in St. Charles Lwanga town parish
Omugurusi Vincent Kalenzi born in 1952 died at 68 years of age. He was buried on Wednesday in Nyakagongo zone Virika Fort-portal tourism city
According to relatives the deceased succumbed to diabetes and Tuberculosis which he has been battling at Kabarole hospital and Kagote health center III. He left only one child Grace Kobusinge and three grandchildren
The daughter Grace Kobusinge described the late father as loving who cherished everyone, God-fearing, Leader and one who served God beyond reasonable doubt especially in the Catholic Church
The burial started with holy Mass presided over by Fr. Moses Mwebembezi of St. Charles Lwanga town parish.
