The Tooro Kingdom yesterday joyfully celebrated 28th Empango [coronation anniversary] of Omukama Oyo Nyimba Rukidi the IV who ascended the throne in 1995 when he was only three years old.
In his royal speech during the coronation ceremony held at Karuzika in Fort Portal city, the 31 year old King of Tooro implored the prime minister of the Kingdom together with the ministers to double the effort in evolving the 25 year development plan in their service.
According to the youthful King Oyo, the 25 year development plan comprises of 8 pillars including skilling the youth, promoting agriculture, cooperating with the government in return Tooro land titles among others.
He thus asked his subjects living on Kingdom land to cooperate with the Kingdom land board so that they can acquire land titles of the land they are living on.
The world’s youngest reigning monarch, went ahead to warn Kingdom top officials who chase his subjects from the kingdom land to let his people be.
He further stressed the need to promote the fourth pillar which is promoting tourism through Ekyoto
Hampango, promoting sports, putting into practice measures of fighting the spread of HIV
among others.
On his part, Thomas Tayebwa the deputy speaker of Uganda who spoke as chief a chief guest, apologized on behalf of the government for the delayed return of the Tooro Kingdom properties particularly the land grabbed after abolition of Kingdoms by Sir Milton Obote in 1967, but gave the Kingdom assurance that they will get back their properties in a very short time.

Tayebwa, also tipped King Oyo to head the campaign of fighting land fragmentation which is the biggest problem in the country.
He also equally tasked him to encourage his subjects to work hard to increase on household income
