Tooro Kingdom has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Natural Resources Defense Initiative (NRDI) to collaborate on areas of mass environmental awareness creation, Advocacy, Promotion of Ecosystem Based enterprises, reforestation and restoration of degraded Ecosystems in Tooro Kingdom.
The omuhikirwa (Prime Minister) Tooro Kingdom Rt. Hon. Bernard Tungakwo encouraged all other entities: government and non-government/ private sector to work together to ensure protection of the ever dwindling Environmental resources, through a collaborative multi-stakeholder approach.
The Executive Director Natural Resources Defense Initiative Edgar Muganzi welcomed the partnership and pledged to intensify Environmental awareness campaigns in collaboration with the kingdom, so that people can make informed decisions about how best they can sustainably utilize natural resources in their localitities.
