The new members of the Tooro kingdom supreme council [Orukurato Orukuru orwobukama Bwa Tooro] have today taken oath, at the Muchwa council chambers. The ceremony, was witnessed by his majesty Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukid the IV.
The Sworn in Members
The sworn in members, include the county Masaza chiefs chiefs, clan heads, religious representatives, business, Youths, cultural leaders disabled, among others.
The Fort Portal chief magistrate, represented by Daphine Ayebale, chaired the swearing in ceremony of the new mebers, and appealed to them to be committed to the duties given to them respectively.
King Oyo
His majesty king Oyo, has directed the new Orukurato members to protect the environment, citing his recent scale at the peak of mountain Rwenzori, where he discovered that people have degraded the mountain.
He notes that this is likely to put the environment at risk of prolonged drought if people stubbornly fail to conserve it.
King Oyo, has further commended the outgoing supreme members for the work they have done for the kingdom.
Meanwhile the new Orukurato members have promised to serve the kingdom wholeheartedly.
