After more than a week with no action, the StarTimes FUFA Big league returned on Thursday evening with seven highly contested fixtures across the Pearl of Africa, three in the Elgon group and four in the Rwenzori group.
Rwenzori group leaders Tooro United maintained their good run in the season, winning 3-2 on the road against newly promoted Terrazo and Tiles at the Kakyeka stadium in Mbarara City.
Tooro United extended their lead on top to six points after they held on to defeat Terrazzo and Tiles 3-2 at the Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara.
Tooro United took the game’s lead through a brilliant strike by Mark Nsubuga but Terrazzo and Tiles levelled matters in quick succession through Patrick Walligo’s header.
Just before the break, Abdallah Bogere restored Tooro’s parity before Eric Akol extended his team’s lead at the hour-mark. From try spot, Emma Obi pulled a goal back for Terrazzo but Tooro held on to see out the game in the closing exchanges.
Edward Golola’s side now get to 26 points in 11 games and have now sealed atleast a playoff position with three games to spare while Terrazzo and Tiles are on the bring of relegation as they sit bottom of the log with seven points, 4 above the relegation line.
