Tooro’s female entrepreneurs have yesterday been tipped on financial discipline in a one day seminar organized by Equity Bank dubbed “Abakyala Ku Ntiko”
In the very seminar,Hon. Linda Irene Mugisa, the Woman MP for Fort Portal city who was a key financial speaker, emphasized the importance of prudent spending if business women are to attain sustainable businesses.
She asked them to of live within their means and embrace the virtue of allocating finances wisely, adhering to a balanced money formula: 50% on necessities, 20% on investments, 10% on leisure, and 20% on savings.
Hon.Linda, who acknowledged women’s contributions to the economy, urged them to strike a balance between work and family responsibilities explaining that the financial independence does not necessarily imply that they neglect their feminine responsibilities at family level.
She commended Equity Bank for empowering women through financial literacy training, addressing a critical gap in their business management skills.

Fatuma Ahamed, the regional manager of Equity Bank, highlighted the challenges women face, such as budgeting and school fees, leading to loans accompanied by financial education.
According to her, Equity Bank offers loans at low interest rates, including specialized programs like Equi Mama and youth loans, significantly impacting women’s lives.
