The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has released the roadmap for registration of candidates for the forthcoming national examination.
The candidates, according to the new calendar will sit for their Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) starting March 1, 2021, Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) on March 30 and the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) starting April 12, 2021.
Addressing journalists at Uganda media center, UNEB Executive Secretary, Mr Daniel Odongo said registration of candidates has commenced today October 22, 2020.
The exercise, according to Mr Odongo, will run for five weeks and all schools must ensure that they register their candidates as there will be no extension.
He said that unlike usually, this year’s registration will be conducted electronically, a process he believes will take a shorter time.
UNEB has also directed schools to register students who conceived during the Covid-19 induced long holiday.
According to Mr Odongo, the number of students who conceived this time is higher compared to the previous years, adding that these were victims of circumstance, therefore, blocking them from sitting the examination will be double jeopardy.
