Kabarole Residents Demonstrate Over Poor State Of Road

The Kabarole district Chairperson Mr. Rwabuhinga Richard summoned the Uganda National Roads Authority Engineers for an urgent meeting over the bad state on Fort Portal-Kijura road that has affected business and transportation of produce.

This follows a planned demonstration by the aggrieved residents living along Fort Portal-Kijura Road who say it’s in poor condition.

In an urgent meeting held in his office Kitumba Tuesday evening, UNRA Engineers led by Eng. Rubahamya Masiryano, the Regional Engineer, assured the district leadership that UNRA is committed to work on the road immediately after the completion of Harubbaho-Gweri Road which is undergoing construction.

According to the Engineers, once Gweri Road is completed by Friday this week, on Monday they will embark on Kijura Road, Bukuuku-Rubona Road and later do spot improvement on Kasisi-Kyanga road.

Rwabuhinga is no now calling for calm among angry residents saying as leaders they are doing everything possible to task UNRA to fulfill their mandate and work on the road next week.
