A Uganda People’s Defence Force’s soldier attached to Bukara Detach Bunyangabu has been arrested for allegedly shooting two dead.
The mountain division spokes person Captain Musinguzi Gorge has identified the suspect as Private Lotkei Paul.
According to Captain Musinguzi, the incident happened yesterday at 8:40 Pm in Kyakasinga Trading Center Nyakigumba Town Council Bunyangabu District.
The deceased persons have been identified as Nayebale Pamela 26 and her 9months child identified as Kusemererwa Owen.
According to Captain Musinguzi, they are investigating the cause of the shooting which is not yet known.
The Suspect has been arrested and currently detained at Mountain Division Headquarters Muhoti Barracks Quarter Guard Cells pending prosecution.
Investigations have commenced and as soon as they are complete, the culprit will be charged and tried in the Division Court Martial Of Mountain Division.
Bodies have been taken to Buhinga hospital mortuary for postmortem.
